Returns, Guarantees and Deposits
We pride ourselves on our after-sales-care and are always happy to help with any query you might have about your new purchase. Instruments in particular can misbehave where wood might unexpectedly move as a result of environmental changes (for instance, moving from our chilly shop into your nice, centrally heated home). In the same vein, vintage items may have quirks that require a little explaining so if you’re in any way confused by something that your new guitar, amp or pedal is doing, please get in touch with us so we can get it sorted for you. Where we can’t sort the problem, a return may be appropriate, the terms of which are below and are in addition to your legal rights.
New Items (North Laine Music)
Any new items purchased from North Laine Music can be returned for a credit note or a possible refund within with 14 days of purchase, if the goods are NOT faulty a restocking fee of up to 20% will be deducted from the refund. Goods must be returned with all packaging and in unused/as-new condition. Faulty goods will be fully refunded or replaced where available. All returns must come with proof of purchase in the form of a receipt from North Laine Music.
Pre-owned Items (EB Guitars)
EB Guitars understands that customers can be concerned when purchasing pre-owned items and as such offers a 3 month guarantee for all electrical items or electrical components (for instance, guitar pickups) that are purchased. In addition, instruments come with a complimentary, after-sale setup (strings not included) which can be redeemed inside of 12 months of purchase.
Pre-owned items often exhibit signs of use or wear and as such are subject to different rules to new items. Instruments in particular can be modified, repaired or damaged by previous owners, sometimes discreetly. EB Guitars ensures that all instruments are functional to a reasonable degree of playability and that all electrical circuits are fully functional and safe for use. All modifications or significant damage is disclosed by EB Guitars in store and is not grounds for a return of an item. Customers are responsible for observing cosmetic wear before purchase. In the same vein, pre-owned items bought in error will not be eligible for a refund. If a pre-owned item purchased from EB Guitars is faulty or damaged in a way that is not visually obvious or renders the item non-functional (for instance, a broken truss rod) and was also NOT disclosed by EB Guitars upon display then the item will be eligible for a refund or repair where possible. Returns of used items are conditional on the items being in the exact condition that they were purchased in.
Deposits
North Laine Music and EB Guitars are happy to take deposits on items in store. A deposit of 10% will hold an item from sale for 7 days, 20% for 14 days etc. Deposits are non-refundable should a customer change their mind or forget about their purchase. Deposited items will remain on display but off-sale until any balance is settled or the deposit expires. If for any reason there is a delay to you being able to settle the balance on an item, please get in touch with us as soon as possible so that we can come to an arrangement that suits both parties. If we cannot reach you upon the expiry of your deposit, the item will go back on sale and the deposit nullified. Deposits may be returned in extenuating circumstances, however in these cases, discretion will remain with the management. Please also note that deposits are not transferable to other items in store.
